A midterm election falls halfway through a presidential term: every U.S. House seat and about a third of the Senate are on the ballot, but the presidency is not. Voting ends on Nov. 3, 2026.
National
- What a midterm is: an even-year election in which the entire U.S. House and one-third of the U.S. Senate are up, but the president is not. It always comes two years after a presidential election. Source
- 435All 435 U.S. House seats are up, plus 5 of the 6 non-voting delegate seats. Source
